This violin is one of our favorites in the shop for overall sound quality and value at this price range. Light and resonant with overall tonal qualities comparable to violins much more expensive. Beautiful 1-piece flamey maple back and sides, and excellent craftsmanship make this violin our recommendation for the $400 to $900 range.

Well we had one hour tonight with our instructor who is a professional violinist. We took five violins we had chosen and she took them through various tests explaining how SHE tests violins and explained all the issues (there are a lot of items to test). To summarize the SV350 not only passed all her tests, it was her clear favorite - she really liked the sound, the fittings, and the craftsmanship. She even said that she had to trade up twice to get a violin that could play the highest notes properly and this one already plays those high notes very well. Overall she was VERY impressed and even more shocked at the price - WOW, she could not believe it. She is taking your name and the model number for other students when they ask her about which violin to buy.

These violins are carefully adjusted and set-up here at our shop before they are shipped out. We adjust the height at the bridge and at the nut, and we tighten and tune the strings to pitch. The violin will arrive with the bridge set-up and the strings in tune. We rosin and check the bow so that it is ready to play right out of the case.
So in summary - we are keeping the violin, it's my daughter's favorite and her instructor's too. Thanks again for the great advice, great service, quick turnaround and of course the wonderful violin.
